A FAMILY bakery is serving takeaway breakfasts for early morning key workers.

Cynthia's Patisserie in Middlewich has been opening from 5.30am to 2pm Monday to Saturday throughout every lockdown.

"A lot of our business is providing morning breakfasts for key workers," said Mandy Daniel who runs the Wheelock Street business with husband Mark.

"We serve the Dutton and Emerald Power lads. They pick up a roll or a sandwich on their way to work."

The bakery was opened by Mandy's mum Cynthia Birchall in 1986.

"We bought the shop from mum in 2002 although I've been working here since it opened 35 years ago," said mum-of-two Mandy.

"A lot of our customers are shielding so we do deliver regular bread orders to vulnerable people who have been very loyal to us."

The bakery receives fresh bread every morning from Chatwins in Nantwich.

"We mainly do sandwiches and hot drinks such as coffee," said Mandy, who has a six-year-old granddaughter. "We also do jacket potatoes which are proving a favourite.

"The support we receive from people in Middlewich is wonderful. We would like to say a big thank you to everyone."
