ONE of Cheshire’s best-loved events is set to return next year with its biggest show to date.

The Royal Cheshire County Show, at Tabley, will be held over three days for the first time on June 21, 22 and 23 next year.

Coronavirus meant that this year’s event was cancelled, while a virtual show was held online in its place.

But with a Covid vaccine now being rolled out amid optimism for the new year, organisers have confirmed plans for the show to return to Tabley in 2021.

In a post on Facebook today, December 14, a spokesman for the show said: “For the first time ever in The Royal Cheshire County Show history, we are having a three-day show.

“2021 is going to be bigger, better, and most certainly make up for missing you all in 2020.”

The Cheshire Agricultural Society was founded in 1838, when the Royal Cheshire Show was first held.

Over the years, the show has grown into one of the biggest events in the Cheshire calendar, with up to 80,000 visitors a year.

It continues to be organised by the society and is delivered by an army of dedicated volunteers.
