CHILDREN are being invited to hunt down a series of Christmas crackers for a new festive event in Knutsford.

The Christmas Cracker Trail will add some welcome festive cheer this Christmas, and runs from December 14 to 20.

It will be a similar format to the Pumpkin Path, and offer families another chance to search for hidden clues which spell out a special phrase which needs to be found for a chance to win a prize.

There will be nine Christmas cracker stickers to be found in shop windows across the town centre, including Princess Street and Canute Place, as well as King Street, Minshull Street and Regent Street.

When you have found a sticker write the letter and the location where you found it on the entry form, and use all the letters to spell the phrase.

Completed entry forms can be dropped off at Mr Simms Olde Sweet Shoppe on King Street or posted through the letterbox at the town council offices on Toft Road.

All entries posted back will be entered into a draw to win one of three prizes, Knutsford Vouchers which can be spent at more 50 participating retailers.

Families who want to enjoy the trail can pick up a form from Mr Simms or the town council offices, or can download and print a digital copy at home via the council website.

Entry forms will also be dropped off at Knutsford primary schools and nurseries to be collected or distributed in school newsletters as a digital copy.

Town council events officer Alex Brown said: “We are so excited for our new trail to begin on December 14.

“We know how much fun local families had at the Pumpkin Path, given that so many events have been cancelled this year, so we are thrilled to offer another chance for some Christmas fun.

“Don’t forget to enjoy looking at all the beautiful Christmas window displays installed by our wonderful local businesses, and pop in to see some of them for Christmas shopping to say thanks for how much they have supported us all this year.”
