CHRISTMAS lights will be switched on in Middlewich in an exciting virtual ceremony this year.
A special video will be broadcast with festive messages from businesses across the town.
The town crier and Santa team from St Luke's Hospice will send greetings as the Lions Brass Band performs a selection of festive music.
Everyone can watch the celebration on Middlewich Town Council's website and social media at 6pm on Friday, December 4.
After scenes of fireworks exploding, the whole town will be lit up.
Residents are asked to switch on their festive house lights at the same time.

Residents are asked to switch on their Christmas decorations at the same time as the town lights up
Ruth Sproston and Denise Appleton are calling on households to light up their properties and join in a community carol singing session from the safety of their own gardens.
Ruth, of Long Lane, said: "We decided as a community to try and create some special Christmas memories for the children as we know that it will not be the same this year.
"We hope that as many of the local community as possible will join in."
The council will be giving prizes to the three best decorated properties in a competition.
To enter, simply send a picture of your festive home to the council's Facebook page and they will then be judged.
