WINSFORD Industrial Estate is to receive more than half-a-million pounds and become a flagship trading hub.

The investment follows a massive yes vote to support Winsford 1-5 Business Improvement District (BID) continuing for a fourth term.

The November ballot saw 91 per cent of companies vote in favour by number and 99 per cent approve by rateable value, meaning that more than £500,000 of investment will be spent on a range of projects over the next five years to cement Winsford 1-5 as a flagship trading environment in the north west.

BID 4 will start on April 1, 2021 after BID 3 finishes and run until at least March, 31, 2026.

BID programme manager Jane Hough was delighted with the result and said: “We’re thrilled to once again receive the backing of our businesses and it’s great to know that they share our passion and vision to keep driving Winsford Industrial Estate forward.

“So much progress has been made since 2005 and we’re excited to build upon that over the next five years and continue to foster the best environment for our businesses to prosper.”

Northwich Guardian:

Exciting plans set to transform Winsford Industrial Estate into a flagship trading environment in the north west

Since 2005, Winsford 1-5 BID has created and delivered a range of projects, initiatives and services to make the estate a great place for businesses to develop and thrive.

During that time, £1.3 million of private sector investment has seen the number of business units grow by 43 per cent, with plans in place to develop the site further still to create more business and job opportunities.

Pete Price, chairman of Winsford 1-5 BID, added: “The outcome of the ballot is wonderful news for everyone involved. We have ambitious plans which we can now progress with and can really start to think about the projects and initiatives we want to deliver between now and 2026.

“I’d also just like to say a big thank you to each and every business on the Winsford Industrial Estate for their hard work and for putting their faith in BID 4. Here’s to a successful future working together.”

November’s yes vote means that organisations on Winsford 1-5 will still be able to benefit from BID funded services such as CCTV and the ANPR system, while employees from all businesses will have the opportunity to upskill through the many training courses that are delivered throughout the year.

On top of this, projects can continue to make the estate greener and cleaner and the BID team will also be looking to increase the economic value of Winsford 1-5 to the local economy, which up until now, has risen by 45 per cent.

Companies on Winsford Industrial Estate will continue to have dedicated support from the BID in relation to growth, access to grants and advice and guidance on key issues surrounding the government, local authority and main partners.
