A VICARAGE in Handforth could be knocked down to make way for a replacement along with four new houses.
Developer Thomas Jones and Sons has submitted plans to Cheshire East Council to redevelop the vicarage site at St Chad’s Church, in Sagars Road.
The homes would be a pair of three-bedroom semi-detached properties, along with two four-bedroom detached houses, while the vicarage would also have four bedrooms.
A total of 14 parking spaces would be provided.
In the application, agent Barrie Newcombe Associates said: “It is considered that the proposal for the development of the site for the residential purposes is acceptable and would have a positive impact on the character and appearance of the site and surrounding area.
“The proposal provides a high-quality housing development which will be an attractive and sustainable place in which to live.
“It creates a sensitive response to the existing site and its surroundings.”
