GAME players can create their own unique murder mystery games in less than 15 minutes.
You Dunnit game builders Matt Ellis, from Knutsford, and Simon Hoare from Lincoln, have launched an online murder mystery game builder which allows users to create a unique murder mystery game they can play in groups of six to 10 players.

With the ability to choose themes, character names, locations and other personal content, this new way of playing a popular dinner party game gives players a unique experience through their own custom game.
Simon said: “As game players we love the thrill of finding and playing new games for the first time.
“We also know if you’re hosting a game night you want to make sure it’s an evening none of your friends will forget. We created something that does both.
“This is a spin on the classic whodunnit murder mystery game which allows players to create their own game no-one has ever played before, and is unforgettably personal to their group.”

The easy-to-use game builder is accessed through your web browser. You get to choose who the victim is and what your player’s characters will be called, as well as a range of other options to help you make a fully bespoke murder mystery game.
Once created, you send your game code out to your group of friends, who can log in on their own devices to access their own secret scripts, questions and evidence.
Matt Ellis, who owns website development company Honcho, said: “Because the game is online you have the flexibility of playing all together in the same room, or if you can’t physically get together you can play over video chat like Zoom as many have done.

“Players can play using their phones, swiping through the rounds together, or if they prefer, they can print their scripts out.
“It’s been a lot of hard work, and we have already had nearly 500 people play the game from all over the world, from the US and Canada to Germany and India.
“It’s a thrill to see people playing it – when we started getting orders from all around the world it was amazing that people were getting the concept and were enjoying it – the feedback has been amazingly positive.”
