TONY Collier who suffers from terminal prostate cancer hasn’t let it stop him from running even when he doesn’t feel well.

He joined Styal Running Club in 2006 and is still one of two coaches there and members of his running club, many of whom live in Altrincham and Sale, have taken on the challenge of virtually running from Manchester to the North Pole.

Tony, from Timperley, said: “The distance is 2,600 miles and we all, including me, will attempt to cover it in 12 days, commencing on November 28. This means that each of our 40 runners will have to run five miles a day.”

This won’t be a problem for Tony. Since May, he has run or hiked every single day.

The club hope to raise at least £2,600, a £1 for every mile, in aid of the Children’s Adventure Farm Trust.

Before he was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer in 2017, Tony ran about 1700 miles a year. Yet, in 2018, he was able to run the London Marathon and in 2019 he ran 970 miles which equals the number of men who die in the from Prostate Cancer every month.

The two runs made £33,000 for Prostate Cancer UK. To contribute see https://bit.ly/39l3zfJ
