Putting your property on the market can be a stressful time, but what happens if it doesn’t sell?

According to Which? there are a whole plethora of reasons a property might not sell, whether it’s poor marketing and bad pictures, being overpriced or even having too much clutter.

We recently took a look at some properties in Dorset have been on the market for a number of years, including park homes, flats and country houses.

Now we are looking at homes in Weymouth that just won’t budge:

First listed: October 2015

Dorset Echo:

Queen Street, DT4

£99,950

This two-bedroom top floor flat first appeared on Zoopla a whopping five years ago and has stayed at the same asking price.

The property is being sold at just £14,950 more than it was originally bought for in 2005.

Leaving plenty to the imagination there are limited pictures available of this flat on Zoopla.

It is described as an 'ideal investment' and is currently let on an assured shorthold tenancy at £460pcm.

First listed: June 2016

Dorset Echo:

The Esplanade, DT4

£375,000

First appearing for sale in 2016 this 14-bedroom guesthouse has seen two major price decreases over its four years on the market.

Initially up for sale at £465,000 the property has now been reduced by £90,000.

Located on the gorgeous Weymouth Esplanade the guesthouse is described as a successful business with five-star TripAdvisor reviews.

First listed: December 2016

Dorset Echo:

Franklin Road, DT4

£115,000

This one-bedroom flat has been on the market for a number of years and just refuses to sell.

A price reduction in February 2017 of £5,000 hasn't done much to help the sale of the property.

In need of modernisation and a complete renovation both inside and out, the house leaves a lot to the imagination.

However, despite it's flaws this property does offer a lot of scope for the right buyer to really put their stamp on the place.

First listed: November 2018

Dorset Echo:

Abbotsbury Road, DT4

£110,000

Currently on the market with Connells this one-bedroom flat on Abbotsbury Road has been on the market for more than two years.

Since first being listed the property has been reduced twice by a total of £5,000.

Located close to the town centre and the beach the property is ideally located and could be a great first-time purchase.

However, it's in need of a facelift throughout.

First listed: December 2018

Dorset Echo:

Helen Lane, Dorset DT4

£420,000

Up for sale for two years, this spacious three-bedroom townhouse is positioned behind the harbour front, just a short walk to the town centre.

Described as a 'turn-key' property this gorgeous property is ready to move into and even boasts a garage and store.
