A MAGICAL Christmas garden is being created by a Middlewich animal lover.

Anne Russell is hoping Noddy the snowman will help to raise funds for Guide Dogs for the Blind Association.

The semi retired florist has plans to introduce more festive characters into her grotto in Chadwick Road.

"I worked for Guide Dogs 11 and-a-half years at their breeding centre in Warwickshire, from 1976 to 1987," said Anne. "I worked in the kennels, looking after puppies, brood birches and stud dogs so want give something back. A cause I care about needs help."

"Depending on the amount raised, we could either sponsor a puppy or name a guide dog."

Anne has set up a JustFunding page to raise as much money as possible. So far she has collected £100 of her £500 target.

The avid member of Middlewich Clean Team picked up litter as she walked her dog on Sutton Field twice a day for 26 years and still continues to keep the neighbourhood tidy.

Anne wants to thank Duttons builders merchants for donating a chain to fasten Noddy the snowman to a tree.
