FAMILIES transforming their homes into winter wonderlands this Christmas are urged to support a hospice.

Residents going big on decorations are invited to sign up for St Luke's new festive fundraiser Dazzling Displays.

The aim is to light up the gloomy winter nights, bring some Christmas cheer and community spirit, and help raise vital funds for patient care at the hospice at the same time.

Angela Slack, community partnerships manager for St Luke’s Hospice, said: “From glittering windows to multi-coloured porches and Santas climbing down the chimney, we all love to see homes lit up for Christmas.

“We know lots of people are going big on Christmas decorations this year and are putting them up early.

"It has been such a gloomy year so why not bring some Christmas cheer and community spirit to your local area and help raise some much needed funds for St Luke’s at the same time.”

St Luke’s will provide posters or a collection box to households taking part to display and encourage neighbours and passers-by to show their appreciation by making a donation to the hospice.

Homes taking part will also be added to a Dazzling Display trail map, with the permission of the homeowner, so that families can take a tour of homes in their area in the run up to Christmas.
