LIBRARY users in Northwich and Winsford can now order books online and collect them on three days each week.

Cheshire West and Chester Council launched the scheme on Thursday, November 12, in an attempt to maintain at least some level of service during the pandemic, which has seen libraries closed.

Orders can be made online or via telephone and members can loan up to ten books per library card.

Once an order is placed it will be ready to pick up at the next ‘collection’ session for the chosen library.

Using Northwich Library as the example, an order placed on Wednesday afternoon will be available to collect on Thursday morning and one placed on Friday evening will be available to collect Saturday morning.

Library users will only be contacted by the library in the event of there being a problem with their order.

Collections will take place at the entrance to the library and face coverings must be worn and social distancing maintained.

You will be asked for your name and directed to the bag to be collected.

All items will have been issued to your ticket so once you have picked up the bag you can leave the library.

Any items to be returned are to be placed in the bin provided. Items can be returned at any order and collect library during their opening times, without having to use the service.
