FAMILIES across Winsford are taking part in a scarecrow hunt this weekend as they celebrate Halloween at home.
Scarecrows can be seen on estates throughout town, and families can follow a trail round to see as many as possible throughout the day.
The event has been set up by Helen-Clare Scanlan and Sharon O’Brien, who told the Guardian it could be the first of an annual event if this weekend’s scarecrow hunt is a success.
More than 200 families are taking part, and Jo Conchie from the Winsford Good Neighbour scheme has put together the map below showing where the scarecrows can be found.
Printed maps are also available from Allan Sheen’s Sewing Machines, in Old High Street, until 3pm today.
A prize will be on offer for the best scarecrow, with the winner set to be announced on Thursday, November 5.
