A FURTHER patient with coronavirus has sadly died at the Countess of Chester Hospital Trust, according to the latest NHS England report today (Monday, October 26).

The death was recorded at the hospital on October 23.

It is in addition to five deaths recorded at the Warrington and Halton hospital trust in the last 24 hours. The dates the patients died were on September 24 and October 10, plus three on October 25.

The total number of patients with coronavirus who have died in Cheshire hospitals now stands at 787.

The Countess of Chester Hospital Trust has recorded 235 deaths (the last on October 23), Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has recorded 219 deaths (the last on October 18); East Cheshire NHS Trust 152 (the last on October 22), and Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust 181 (the last on October 25).

Across England, a further 91 people who tested positive for the coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 31,910.

Patients were aged between 44 and 95 years old. All had known underlying health conditions.

Date of death ranges from 24 September to 25 October, with the majority being on or after 23 October.

Their families have been informed.
