HOTSPOTS for coronavirus infection in parts of Cheshire have been highlighted in a Public Health England map.

This map shows the prevalence of Covid-19 in Northwich, Winsford, Middlewich, Knutsford and Wilmslow from October 3 to 9.

It breaks down the area into geographical patches known as 'middle super output areas' – which are smaller than towns, but bigger than individual villages.

The latest data shows that between October 3 and 9, four of these areas had seen at least 20 coronavirus cases each.

Every area with data in the map had seen at least three cases of coronavirus during the week.

It comes ahead of Cheshire entering a tier two lockdown on Wednesday, which will see the mixing of households banned indoors, but the rule of six will apply outdoors and hospitality businesses can continue to open.
