ANOTHER 210 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed across Cheshire East in West in 24 hours.

The latest figures from Public Health England cover the 24 hours up to 9am today, October 13.

In Cheshire East, including Knutsford and Middlewich, a further 101 cases of Covid-19 were confirmed by 9am today – taking the total to 4,070 since the pandemic began.

Meanwhile in Cheshire West, including Northwich and Winsford, 109 new cases were confirmed by 9am – taking the borough’s total to 3,823 since the start of the pandemic.

It is a slight increase on the number of 206 new cases confirmed across the two boroughs on Monday.

A total of 14,310 new cases of coronavirus were confirmed across England in the latest figures, taking the total to 540,396.

Both boroughs were added to the Government’s ‘tier two’ list for lockdown restrictions yesterday, with the measures set to come into force on Wednesday.

It means that households will be banned from mixing in any indoor setting – but the rule of six will still apply outdoors, while pubs and restaurants can continue to trade with the 10pm curfew.
