THE Countess of Chester Hospital Trust has recorded an additional death of a patient testing positive for coronavirus.

NHS England data released this afternoon shows that the death sadly occurred on October 10.

The trust, which covers both the Chester and Ellesmere Port hospital sites, has now registered three deaths so far this month, having not previously recorded one since July.

Warrington and Halton hospital trust also recorded a further death in the latest 24-hour reporting period.

The total number of people who have died in Cheshire hospitals after testing positive for coronavirus stands at 750.

The Countess of Chester Hospital Trust has recorded 230 deaths (the last on October 10), Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has recorded 217 deaths, (the last on October 10); East Cheshire NHS Trust 149 (the last on October 6), and Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust 154 (the last on October 12).
