TWO trees on Overleigh roundabout in Chester will be removed on the night of Wednesday, September 30, as they have been assessed as being in poor condition.

Cheshire West and Chester Council says it values the benefits that trees bring to the borough, both from a visual and climate change perspective.

The trees identified for removal are unsafe and it is necessary to remove them to ensure the future safety of passing motorists.

Works will be carried out on Wednesday from about 7pm to minimise traffic disruption. It is envisaged the works will take around six hours. Lane closures will be in effect on the roundabout to ensure the works can be carried out in a safe manner.

The council apologises for any inconvenience and disruption these essential safety works will cause to motorists and nearby residents.
