A PAEDOPHILE who was caught with more than 1,000 indecent images of children has been fined by the courts.

Matthew McGee, from Birchwood, was told to pay a £95 victim surcharge and £85 in costs after admitting possession of indecent images and two counts of making indecent images.

The 44-year-old was found to be in possession of 1,041 indecent images in April last year – the majority of these being classified as category C images, while two were category B.

McGee, of Lyster Close, was also handed a two-year community order at Chester Magistrates Court on Friday, September 25.
