A MAN was treated for smoke inhalation after a chip pan fire in Winsford.
Firefighters were called to a house in Station Road at around 9.15pm last night after smoke was seen coming from the property.
Crews discovered a chip pan had caught fire and had been covered up.
Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the house and moved the chip pan to a safe place in the back garden.
Residents were advised to leave it there for 24 hours.
One of the occupants was suffering from the effects of smoke inhalation.
Firefighters handed him over to the care of paramedics.

A spokesman for North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust said: "We sent a rapid response vehicle, an ambulance and an advanced paramedic to the scene. We didn't take anyone to hospital."
Crews used a large fan to clear the house of smoke and were at the scene for around an hour.
Firefighters in three fire engines from Winsford, Northwich and Sandwich dealt with the incident.
