A MIDDLEWICH man has died after his Ford Transit van collided with another vehicle in Warmingham on Wednesday (August 12).

Cheshire Police confirmed that the 50-year-old died at the scene following the collision with the Fiat 500 shortly after 11am on Wednesday morning.

A spokesperson said: "Just before 11.10am on Wednesday 12 August police were called to School Lane following reports of a collision involving a white Ford transit van and a red Fiat 500.

"The driver of the Ford transit van, a 50-year-old man from Middlewich, died at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.

"The driver of the Fiat 500 was taken to hospital with minor injuries."

Officers are now appealing to trace the drivers of a white flatbed van and a red Volkswagon Polo that they say were driving through the location prior to the collision.

The spokesperson added: "Police are also keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the collision or may have any dashcam footage of the vehicle before the incident to come forward."
