LIGHTNING lit up the skies over Cheshire for a second night running on Tuesday night and the early hours of this morning.
The heatwave, which has brought gorgeous sunshine with it in the daytime, made way for dramatic storms again overnight.
Residents captured these brilliant images and video clips from across our area.

Spectacular #lightning just south of #Knutsford right now... a huge flash every few seconds and a constant grumble of #thunder. Just like being in the Alps in the height of summer 🏔 #heatwaveuk #thunderstorm pic.twitter.com/P9CAwQD4mE

#storm at first it was silent lightning, then strange skies, then the wind picked up, thunder followed by rain. Finished with silent lightning. pic.twitter.com/D1u5ACtNRd
