ORGANISERS of the Knutsford Makers Market were thrilled with how the event's return from lockdown went on Sunday.
The market took place in a new location on the Heath after town councillors agreed it could go ahead at two meetings last month.
Social distancing measures were put in place to keep visitors and traders safe, including a set route which shoppers stuck to throughout the day.
Founder Vicky Crane told the Guardian: "We had a great day – it could not have gone any better.
"It was so nice to see so many local people come out and enjoy something close to normality.

"Obviously it was really important for the stallholders too – they have not been able to earn any money for months on end.
"The Heath was a lovely place to have it. People could keep out of each other's way and it is such a beautiful location."
Friends of the Heath had criticised the decision to hold the market on the site at relatively short notice, but Vicky felt the move worked out well.
"We made sure that we were not taking up too much space so that anyone who wanted to use the Heath for walking could still do so," she added.

"We also wanted to make sure the position was accessible for people with disabilities, and we were able to do that."
Knutsford Town Council's events committee will discuss how the market went and how it should be held in future at a meeting next Monday.
