FRAUDSTERS wracked up £12,000 in spending after taking out credit cards in the name of a Bournemouth woman.

Officers have launched a "detailed investigation" into the offences, which involved the use of the cards to buy items online, as well as in stores in Bournemouth and Christchurch throughout June.

Dorset Police received a report on July 1 from a Bournemouth woman aged in her 50s that she had been made aware that two credit cards had been taken out in her name and used to carry out various transactions.

The total amount spent on the two cards was £12,000.

Police Community Support Investigator Chris Wilson, of Dorset Police, said: “These offences involved significant sums of money and we have been carrying out a detailed investigation to try and identify those responsible.

“We have reviewed CCTV footage from several stores where the cards were used and I am now issuing images of a number of people we would like to speak to as part of our enquiries.

“I would urge anyone with information as to their identity to please contact us.”
