A PRIMARY school has issued a plea for people to stop climbing on its roof.

Youths have been spotted accessing the roof of Lower Peover CofE Primary School recently, and this is not the first time that this has happened.

Police have been contacted and CCTV is being investigated to find those responsible.

Shakerley Police said: “Unfortunately, I have to make another plea as youths have been spotted once again on the roof of Lower Peover Primary School.

“Not only is this dangerous, but also seen as trespassing. CCTV enquires are ongoing.”

Those living in the area or passing by are being urged to keep an eye out and report any suspicious behaviour to the police.

A spokesman for Lower Peover CofE Primary School said: “Please could we remind the public that school is private property and should not be accessed at any time.

“Apart from the obvious security risk to school, we do not wish anyone to come to any harm on school premises.

“As the area is very popular with walkers, we please ask members of the public to be vigilant around school and report any suspicious activity to school directly and the police.

“We have welcomed the increased presence and support from our local PCSO and will continue to work with her in the future.”
