A PAIR of superhero twins have enlisted the help of a Warrington Wolves star in their bid to complete a charity decathlon.

Ruben and Elena Evans-Guillen, from Padgate, are aiming to take on 10 physical challenges in the space of a month in aid of the Warrington Wolves Charitable Foundation and Warrington Disability Partnership.

And the At Home Superheroes challenge recruited Wire half Blake Austin when the St Peter’s Catholic Primary School pupils completed one of their events on the Halliwell Jones Stadium pitch on Friday, July 3.

Dressed as Captain America and Captain Marvel, the twins took part in a rugby ball throwing and running exercise under his guidance.

Warrington Guardian:

It is Ruben and Elena’s latest mammoth fundraising scheme, having previously run 100km in the space of a year in order to drum up thousands of pounds for a new play area on the children’s ward at Warrington Hospital.

And they are also currently raising money for a new children’s and adolescent’s mental health room at the hospital, with a similarly long distance challenge ongoing.

Dad Mark said: “We would sincerely like to thank the Warrington Wolves Charitable Foundation for organising this event as part of the Superhero Challenge.

“It was an incredible day for Ruben and Elena.

“A special mention to Neil Kelly at the foundation for organising this – we really want to acknowledge their marvellous approach and ethos to all-inclusivity sports within the town.

“We would be so grateful if you could support our event and contribute to our fundraiser.”
