A TEENAGE girl has been arrested after a serious assault at a park in Padgate.

Cheshire Police received reports of fighting at Bennetts Recreation Ground at around 10.15pm on Wednesday, June 24.

Officers attended the scene and found that a 20-year-old woman had suffered an injury to her mouth.

It is believed that she lost her front four teeth during the attack and will require dental work costing thousands of pounds in order to correct the damage.

A 17-year-old girl was detained on suspicion of assault in connection with the incident earlier today, Monday, and remains in custody at present.

A force spokesman said: “At 10.11pm on Wednesday, June 24, officers were called to reports of an altercation involving a group of women at Bennetts Recreation Ground in Padgate.

“Officers attended the scene and found that the victim, a 20 year-old woman, had sustained an injury to her mouth.

“On Monday, June 29, a 17-year-old girl was arrested on suspicion of assault and is currently in custody.”
