A BUDDING cyclist has raised more than £440 for our NHS heroes by cycling more than 150 miles in lockdown.

Four-year-old Lennon Cardoso Eardley, from Middlewich, has been on his bike almost every day in lockdown with mum Roberta Cardoso and the rest of the family on weekends.

After first riding three miles in a session, he has built it up to five miles on weekdays and as much as 11 miles at the weekend.

Roberta said: "He has always loved being on his bike. Even before he was able to walk, he loved being on his balance bike.

"His bike even broke and we had to get him another one, so he is on his third bike now.

"He does it all at his own pace and we go everywhere – canals, estates, he loves the skatepark."

The youngster, who attends Lower Peover Primary School, is supporting the Mid Cheshire Hospitals Charity through donations on Just Giving.

He caught plenty of attention around mid Cheshire by sporting a flag on his bike until that broke, so the family now has a big sign outside their house.

"When I told him about maybe raising money for the NHS heroes he was really keen," added Roberta.

"He understands it all, he can see when more money is coming in on the Just Giving app and it has been great for him to see people responding to it."
