BURGLARS are targeting sheds at homes in St Helens, police have warned.
Fishing tackle, tools and a bike have been taken in separate break-ins over recent nights.
In the first incident a lock was forced on a shed in Stainton Close, Carr Mill and the angling equipment was stolen.
A lock was also forced open at a shed in The Close , Haydock.
A black Appollo bike and electric tools were stolen on that occasion.
Police have urged the public to use stronger locks to deter crooks and to secure bikes.
A spokesperson said: “If possible try to secure bikes to a fixed point in the shed and have a really robust lock.”
