VOLUNTEERS are full of praise for the Middlewich community with the town currently low on litter.

Middlewich Clean Team says it is unlikely to hold any group litter picks in the near future, as social distancing rules continue to apply in the pandemic.

Dedicated volunteers are continuing to pick up any litter they do spot during their individual walks though.

And fortunately there has not been much for Clean Team members to pick up, with Middlewich residents all doing their bit to keep the town tidy.

Janet Chisholm BEM, president of Middlewich Clean Team, said: "Middlewich is looking very clean and tidy in these unprecedented times thanks to the community and the dedication of our Middlewich Clean Team members.

"Although we are unable to litter pick in our twice a month way, many of us are practicing social distancing by doing solo litter picks.

"It is a pleasure to walk through our town and along the canal. Many thanks."

Further updates on the Middlewich Clean Team will be made on the group's website and Facebook page.
