A GIFTED Winsford musician with autism has teamed up with dancers to help him tackle lockdown stress.

André Adams, 14, has recorded a unique soundtrack called Mouth made entirely from his own anxious ticks and sounds that have been triggered by the Covid-19 crisis.

Fancy Feet Theatrical Dance members, who have been dancing online and at home, have choreographed their steps to his background music.

Rhona Logie, a PE teacher at Hartford High School and André's form tutor, edited 47 clips and dance moves to produce a video to raise awareness of autism.

André's mum Tracy said: "All the sounds were made from him. The clicking is André cracking his knuckles which he is doing more often during lockdown. It is just tension building up in his body. All his high pitched noises have been heightened.

"We decided to create a project from this anxiety pouring out of his body. He used his musical talent and passion make a soundtrack."

Tracy says her son was able to sing before he could talk and has always been drawn to music.

"He's not a big talker, so he finds it difficult to express himself," she said. "We're just delighted he's found a way to express himself through the saxophone."

André has been diagnosed with ASD, dyslexia and ADHD.

The talented musician won a talent show when he was only 10 - just six months after learning to play The Pink Panther.

"His normal life was turned upside down we are trying to create a routine incorporating with his school work to get the balance right."

André is discovering how to manipulate sounds and turn them into electronic music using his laptop and hopes to learn more about the craft in media studies.

Fancy Feet dance teacher Laura Wilkinson, who teaches PE at André's school, said: "We had a collection of photos of dancers doing online classes which we combined with short video clips. Rona spend a day and a half putting it all together.

"When the collaboration video is shared it will hopefully reach many more people within our community and beyond to help raise awareness for autism."

The display team from Hartford School of gymnastics and Maria Clarke, 13, a pupil from Tarporley High School, also made videos using André's Mouth soundtrack.
