AN Indian takeaway in Winsford is donating food to thank staff at Leighton Hospital for their tireless efforts treating patients with Covid-19.
The Balti, formally known as Balti Cottage, has arranged to deliver 200 meals to staff working round the clock during the pandemic.
Manager Sheikh Kamal said: "Medical staff are the heroes of our nation and our community. We can't thank them enough for their efforts.
"We just wanted to provide something small that might make them happy.
"They are putting their lives at risk for us. Sadly some doctors and nurses have passed away. We are sorry for them and our families.
"They are all doing a tremendous job."

Chefs will be preparing a selection of Balti chicken, chicken tikka masala and rice and have been asked by the hospital to deliver the food to the accident and emergency department on Tuesday evening.
The takeaway on Over Square is open every day from 4.30pm to 10pm for telephone orders.
Social distancing guidelines are in place to protect the safety of staff and customers when they come to collect meals.
The business has attracted many loyal customers since it was established 25 years ago.
