DID you spot the so-called ‘Pink Moon’ in the skies over Cheshire last night, Tuesday?
In recent years, traditional Native American names for full moons have become more common, with April’s full moon often corresponding with early springtime blooms of a certain wildflower native to eastern North America.
Commonly called creeping phlox or moss phlox, the flower also went by the name ‘moss pink’, and thanks to this seasonal association, this full moon came to be called the Pink Moon.
