EIGHT-year-old Harry Wadsworth is calling on Prime Minister Boris Johnson to make sure every child who has a birthday during the coronavirus lockdown receives a bag of sweets.
Harry, from Over Peover, is a pupil at Peover Superior Primary School, and wrote to the PM at 10 Downing Street for a persuasive letter exercise for school.
Harry’s mum Kate said: “In the letter Harry mentioned Mr Simms Olde Sweet Shoppe in Knutsford as his favourite sweet shop.
“He is yet to hear back from Boris, but he’s hoping for a surprise in the post next Monday for his ninth birthday.
“Both Peover Superior school and Mr Simms have also tweeted Boris for his answer.”
Harry asked the Prime Minister what his favourite sweet was, and ended his letter: “I think sweets are important because they taste nice. They last a long time and they make you smile.”
Because of the lockdown Harry is due to celebrate with his friends via a 45-minute Zoom party, which will include a game of musical statues.
