A PLANNING application has been submitted seeking to extend a shopping centre with the creation of a new retail unit.
Plans for an extra retail unit at Four Acre Lane Shopping Centre, on Four Acre Lane, Clock Face have been drawn up.
The proposed retail unit would provide 93 sqm of floorspace.
Plans have been submitted to St Helens Council by LCP Investments Limited seeking permission for the extension.
The application states "the new building would provide a continuous building line with the existing retail terrace and ensure that the building is set back from Burnage Avenue so that overlooking is not a concern".
The design and access statement adds: "The proposed additional unit would add to the vitality and viability of the existing local centre and will be respectful of the character and appearance of its wider context.
"In summary, it is considered that the grant of planning permission is justified given the design approach that has been undertaken in the formulation of the scheme proposed".
