TWO more people have died at hospitals in the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole area after testing positive for COVID-19, NHS England has said.

In a statement released today, the NHS said one person died while under the care of The Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals on March 30.

While another person died at Poole Hospital the following day.

The statement said: “A further 486 people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 2,137.

“Patients were aged between 13 and 99 years old. 20 of the 486 patients (aged between 13 and 93 years old) had no known underlying health condition. “Their families have been informed.”

Last week, three people who tested positive for coronavirus died at hospitals in the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole area.

One person died on Wednesday, March 25, while under the care of The Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals, while a further two people died at Poole General Hospital the following day.

Another person at Poole Hospital NHS Foundation Trust died on March 28.

No more details were released about those who have died.
