POLICE in Oswestry have warned shoppers in the town to be wary after receiving reports of stolen purses.

Oswestry Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) posted on Twitter to say it had received three reports of stolen purses on Wednesday morning.

They have issued advice for shoppers in the area to be more careful with their personal belongings.

The Twitter post read: "Shoppers please be aware. We have had three reports of purses being stolen from handbags in Oswestry this morning.

"Please keep your handbag closed with the flap towards your body and your purses in the bottom of your bags.

"Better still keep your purses on a chain attached to your bag."
