FIREFIGHTERS worked for more than two hours on Sunday morning to prevent floodwater pouring into homes.
A crew from Wilmslow Fire Station was called out at about 7.30am to Merrymans Lane, Great Warford, to reports of flooding following heavy overnight rain.
The crew closed the road and used a portable dam and pumps to move the floodwater away from properties to a drainage brook.
Once the water levels were at an acceptable level firefighters handed the scene over to highways and left at 10am.
