FIVE fire crews were rushed out to a hazardous material incident near Hartley Wintney on Friday.

Crews from Basingstoke, Rushmoor, Yateley and Winchester were called out to the incident at Timbermill Yard Brickhouse Hill - a waste recycling warehouse - near Eversley at 2.30pm.

Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service say that a chemical spillage saw crews on site for three hours decontaminating the scene.

Air tests were carried out at the scene which came back negative.

They could not say what chemicals were spilled.

A spokesperson for Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “There was a chemical spillage at a waste recycling picking warehouse. It was decontaminated by HFRS. We did air testing results which came back as negative. It was made safe.”

Crews left the scene just after 5.30pm.
