1 The Royal Balti House: Rated five stars by reviewers, the Farnworth-based restaurant offers Indian, Asian, British, Balti and Bangladeshi cuisine. As well as winning several local awards, 1,073 of the 1,190 reviewers have rated it excellent.
Steve said: “By far the best Indian restaurant in the Bolton area. Food is always amazing, atmosphere is great and the staff are superb.”
2 Casalingo: Right at the edge of Bolton, this family-run Italian in Ainsworth is worth travelling for. With vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options available, there’s something for everyone on the menu.

3 Tapaz Ristorante: Located in the heart of the town centre, the 4.5-star rated restaurant offers Mediterranean, Spanish, Portuguese and European cuisine. Tina F said: “Nice food and nice staff but for tapas they are such big portions you don’t need to order more, wanted to try more but was stuffed after first course”
4 Taste of Greece: This cafe on Churchgate is perfect for a lighter dinner, offering salads, barms, and Greek specialities. Neil W said: “Another lovely quick meal here. Thank you. Quick service, very reasonably priced. Very friendly and authentic.”
5 The Unity Brook Pub: Traditional pub food is a winner at this Kearsley establishment. The family run pub serves home cooked food at a reasonable price, and has a 4.5 star rating. Anthony W said: “Fabulous great food in a real pub atmosphere Good beer and fantastic food and great value for money. Would highly recommend for the good pub grub and excellent friendly service”
6 Sokrates Taverna: This authentic Greek restaurant in Horwich is very popular, offering Cypriot and Eastern Mediterranean cuisine as well. Daniel said: “Love this place, the Meze menu is just fantastic! Lovely Greek food & staff lovely, come explain what each course is to you also which is great.”
7 The Kitchen: This modern Mediterranean restaurant in Westhoughton uses seasonal ingredients. Rated 4.5 stars, this is sure to be a great hit. Janet W said: “Great meal here last Friday night. Good food.Hot and tasty.Excellent service.Also great music. Will be visiting again soon.”
8 The Cherry Tree at Blackrod: This family owned restaurant serves traditional British cooking, as well as fine wines, cask beers and cocktails, and has been rated excellent by 1,127 reviewers. . Caroline Y said: “This restaurant never disappoints on food quality and service - well done to Tom and all his team! Looking forward to seeing the new look!”
9 Nick’s Restaurant: This local restaurant on Chorley Old Road serves European and British cuisine and is very popular with the locals. Geoff T said: “the food was well presented and was of top quality produce. the tables were very close together but made for atmosphere.”
10 Nam Ploy Thai Restaurant: The final spot on our list is on St George’s Street, and offers vegetarian, vegan and gluten free Thai food. Emily P said: “Lovely restaurant with very friendly staff! Food was amazing will be back to try more! There was a singer & magician that where great!”
