A WINSFORD hairdressing salon has banned gossip and celebrity magazines due to 'the damage and hurt' they can cause, following the death of Caroline Flack.

The Love Island TV presenter was found dead in her flat on Saturday, February 15, with an inquest confirming she had taken her own life ahead of a highly publicised assault trial.

Guyz n Dollz Hair Studio on Wharton Road has joined salons across the country in no longer providing gossip magazines for customers.

Some magazines have been criticised for their intrusion into the lives of celebrities and publishing negative stories.

Salon owner Leanne Forsey said: "In light of the recent event with Caroline Flack we don't think it is the right thing to supply gossip magazines. These magazines are full of absolute rubbish, gossip and lies. They have done a lot of damage to people. It is not nice.

Northwich Guardian:

Guyz n Dollz Hair Studio in Winsford will no longer provide customers with gossip magazines following the death of Caroline Flack

"We prefer to stick to health, beauty, cookery and home magazines and not spread any more gossip and hurt.

"This is only a small step but it is in the right direction. If enough salons boycott these magazines they would find it hard to carry on selling stories."

At the time of her death, Caroline was being prosecuted for allegedly assaulting her boyfriend, a charge they both denied.
