AN application for signage and outdoor seating at a new coffee shop and bar in Barons Quay has been approved.
Cheshire West and Chester Council planners have given the go-ahead to BEAR’s plans for three outdoor searing areas – including one with a pergola.
BEAR’s sixth site, the Barons Quay location will overlook the River Weaver, neighboured by Barons Quay Social.
A planning officer said: “The development would relate satisfactorily to the existing character of the area and would enhance its function as a commercial area with a focus here on leisure uses.
“The development would not unduly obstruct the flow of pedestrians along the footway.”
BEAR’s owners – who brand the business as #NotAnotherCoffeeShop – have also submitted a licence application for the sale of alcohol on site.
The mooted opening hours are from 8am until 11pm Monday to Saturday, and 9am to 11pm on Sundays.
A consultation runs until March 4.
