A BOLTON-based software company has been announced as a finalist for the North West Family Business Awards.

Nisyst, a supplier of charity retail EPoS software, made it to the last round of the Science and Technology category of the awards.

The Little Lever firm beat some strong competitors, with a record 192 businesses entering the scheme from across the North West.

Bob Chunilal, managing director of Nisyst, said: “We’re delighted to have been shortlisted for this award. It is testament to the hard work of all our team.

“The family values we hold as a family business have had a massive impact on the culture of our business and how we operate.

“Coupled with a strong product that really delivers, we believe the level and quality of customer service we provide is down to these core values.

“This in turn has been instrumental to the success of our business to date.”

The company is one of three firms shortlisted in the category, and has been chosen because of its sustained commitment to providing cutting-edge products, services, insightful solutions and innovative strategies.

Finalists will now be receiving a visit from the panel of expert judges to make their final decision.

Winners will be announced at a glittering ceremony on Friday March 6.

The event will be held under the wings of Concorde in the events centre at Manchester Airport and will be hosted by food writer and presenter, Nigel Barden.

Founder and co-director of the awards, Sue Howorth, said: “We were inundated with some incredible entries and we have been burning the midnight oil to get through them as they came in right up to the wire.

“The judges had extremely difficult decisions to make so the finalists should be extremely proud of themselves.”
