A PASSION for reading is inspiring children to help raise funds for a new school library.

Pupils at Willow Wood Community School in Winsford have already raised £550 towards books.

Year 4 teacher Chris Shone, who believes every school should have a library and every child should have a book, is leading the initiative.

Year 5 teacher Adam Aspinall said: "Willow Wood pupils were sponsored to read for certain time periods over seven days. Whilst being an enjoyable exercise, they also raised a fantastic £240 pounds plus a percentage bonus to spend on wonderful brand new books for our new Willow Wood library.
