TODAY's Warrington Makers Market has been cancelled due to bad weather.

The venue for the popular market, which was due to be held for the first time in 2020, had earlier been switched from Palmyra Square to the Old Market Place due to Storm Chiara.

But organisers announced that the event was cancelled shortly after the scheduled start time of 11am.

High winds and heavy rain are predicted across the country today due to Storm Ciara – with an amber warning having been issued across much of England and Wales.

The next Warrington Makers Market will now take place on Sunday, March 8.
