A COMMUNITY bus in Burtonwood and Winwick has relaunched after four months off the road due to expensive repairs.

Deputy council leader and ward councillor Cllr Cathy Mitchell, who leads the charity, welcomed the news.

She said: “Thank you so much to Amazon for helping us out with the repairs and we are very grateful to Warrington Borough Council for their continued support for this important scheme.”

Gavin Windsor, site leader at Amazon’s Omega site, said the company is proud to be a part of the community and delighted to support the 'much-loved' service.

Cllr Tony Higgins, the council’s cabinet member for neighbourhoods, added: “The council are delighted to support this scheme, which benefits residents of Burtonwood and Winwick every day, helping to combat loneliness.”

The charity is completely run by volunteers, with nobody receiving a salary.
