Proud Leasowe residents have answered a call on social media to tidy up the local area and now they're planning more action.
Organiser Linda Davies, who grew up in the area, set up a litter pick after becoming concerned that Leasowe had fallen into decline.
After walking around the estate and seeing litter and rubbish nearly everywhere she looked, she decided to do something about it.
Utilising local Facebook page 'All Things Leasowe!', Linda put out a call for other residents who felt the same, to get together and: “have a go!”
A group of around 20 parent and kids met at Leasowe Adventure Playground on Sunday January 19 and spent an hour litter picking until they ran out of rubbish bags.
Joining in with Linda and the residents were The Little Collector, Tidy Thomas and local Labour activists.
Proving to be a success, residents have decided to make it a regular event with the next litter pick planned for Sunday February 2.
Linda said: "This is only the start. Regular events will be organised not only around litter picking but also more collective community events, just as there used to be."
