Laura had lots of surprises to mark her milestone birthday

Laura, whose maiden name was Hartley, was brought up with a brother and two sisters and attended school in Chorlton-cum-Hardy in Manchester.

After leaving school at 14, she went to work for Kodak, developing films in a dark room and says this was her favourite job.

She went on to work in Trafford Park where she met her late husband Eric.

The couple married in 1943 and had a daughter Lynne two years later and a son Robin in 1949.

Laura left work to become a full-time mum and moved to Northwich due to her husband's job.

Eric became poorly in 1993 and sadly died.

Laura moved to Middlewich to be closer to her daughter, who sadly died from cancer.

Laura lived in a bungalow for 26 years before she went into care.

She has two grandsons, two granddaughters and 11 great grandchildren.

Laura enjoyed a celebration meal with her family on Sunday.
