TRAFFIC is set to be diverted through Middlewich due to the closure of a section of road linking Broken Cross and Lach Dennis from tomorrow, Tuesday.

The closure will be in place for three days until Thursday on Pennys Lane between the junctions with the A556 and Crowders Lane.

This is to enable drainage investigation works to be carried out by Cheshire West and Chester Council.

A diversion has been created that will see motorists use Holmes Chapel Road and Byley Lane into Middlewich, continue along Centurion way and King Street before joining the A556.

A notice issued by the council reads: “The closure will come into force on Tuesday, January 28 and will be in force for a maximum of five days.

“It is anticipated that the work will last for approximately three days.”
