POLICE officers are looking into reports of a 'bogus modelling agency' threatening young people into sending inappropriate messages.
Middlewich High School has shared a message purportedly sent out by a nearby school, warning parents of the 'Scarlet Bookings Agency' scam.
The message said: "It has come to my attention that a bogus modelling company called ‘Scarlet Bookings Agency’ on Instagram, has been pressurising young people into sending inappropriate messages.
"Initially, these requests will be modelling their favourite outfits, then a bikini shoot and finally a naked photo to ‘analyse their body type’, coupled with threats if not forthcoming.
"Please discuss this with your child and check they are not following ‘Scarlet Bookings Agency’. The police are involved.”
Middlewich High School said no similar issues had been raised by their pupils, but urged parents to remain vigilant.
A Cheshire Police spokesman said: "We have been made aware of concerns about a modelling agency contacting young people on social media platforms.
"I’d like to reassure you we are looking into this."
